VSI Global Citizenship and Climate Action Workshops!
VSI offers a range of fun and informal workshop on global issues. Find out how to get involved, below!
Our global citizenship and climate action workshops are fun, informal, and completely free. They are also a great way to meet likeminded people who are interested in taking action!
Each month, one of our volunteers will host a short meetup and workshop on a relevant local or global issue of their choice. Our workshops take place online, in the evenings, on the last Tuesday of every month. If you're interested in joining us, sign up for our mailing list, or follow us on social media!
This month's workshop will be hosted by one of our volunteers who attended SCI Madrid's recent seminar 'Agenda 2030,' and will focus on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. It will take place online, in the evening, from 19:00 - 20:00. Apply and more information.
Our Youth Climate Justice Project has been hosted annually since 2021, with our most recent project being held in November 2022.
Participants, aged 18-25, take a look at the climate crisis from a human-centred perspective, focusing on the inequalities created by climate change in order to recognise how climate action is one part of a broader action neccessary for the reduction of inequality and poverty, and for the creation of a better future for all.
Projects took place online, in the mornings, over three days, before participants met in-person for a concluding session, where possible.
Our two part programme, 'From Volunteering to Global Citizenship,' is avalaiable to volunteers who take part in our long-term voluntary projects.
The first part of the programme takes place at the beginning of the volunteer's project, and is designed to prepare them to think critically about their project so they can get the most out of it.
The second part of the programme takes place at the end of the volunteer's project, and prepares them to take the next steps in their volunteer journey!
