Volunteer Project Coordinators needed for VSI projects in Ireland this summer

28 Apr 2016

  • Would you like to help out on VSI’s projects in Ireland this summer?
  • Would you like to develop your volunteer leadership and coordinating skills?

We need Volunteer Project Coordinators for a number of our projects from June to August, including 4 environmental projects in Killarney National Park ; two projects with Glebe House in Strangford, Co. Down;  one with the Camphill Community in Co. Monaghan and one with the Mosney Asylum centre.. The role involves volunteering with the group, helping the volunteers settle in, helping to organise the group on a daily basis, developing and supporting good group dynamics, promoting intercultural exchange and helping to organise free-time activities. You will get to know the international volunteers and the host organisation and develop your leadership skills. Support is provided by VSI during the projects.

Volunteering experience is essential. Experience of leading volunteer projects, youth exchanges or other kinds of projects would be useful but is not essential. You must be over 21 and have good communication and organisational skills.

This is a volunteer role, your travel expenses within Ireland are covered and your food and accommodation are free, there are no fees.

If you're interested but not sure you have the skills or experience, contact Masha in VSI ivp@vsi.ie  or sign up for the training in May .

VSI’s Coordinator Training for projects in Ireland is taking place 21/22 May in Dublin. More details

The training will include Group dynamics, Team-building, Cultural exchange, Communications skills and Health and Safety on projects. If you attend the training there's no obligation to coordinate a project if you decide it's not for you. At the training you will also find out about VSI and the work that we do and other ways that you can help out.

Interested – send us an email ivp@vsi.ie and we will send you more details
