Refresh the Climate & Rewrite the Future Action Workshop Berlin (24.08-02.09) Call for participants

SCI Germany and SCI International invite activists to join in this 10 day action workshop where we’ll discover ways of organizing communities in a sustainable way and will change the way we talk about climate change and solutions! Climate change is an anxiety-provoking subject which is difficult to tackle in the media and gives us a sense of powerlessness despite the fact that solutions exist.Study themes: De-growth and transition town movements, strong sustainability, alternative ways of living, cross-cutting issue ideology (capitalism)/environmental, urban gardening, perma-culture, renewable energy, inner transition, local food system and cooking.


  • You are coming from the Region (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, France, Sweden, Finland, Poland)  
  • You are at least 18 and not more than 30 years old (but few exceptions for over 30 are possible)
  • You have been active in SCI or like minded organizations in climate/environment justice or similar topics
  • you are willing to  travel by land
  • you are willing to share living space and responsibilities with other participants
  • willing to be fully involved in an 10-days long intensive programmme
  • media and new technologies skills are welcome (for writing blogs and making short videos                                     

All participants, after taking part in the re:actions, are invited and encouraged to come back home and run their small community based projects (local actions) or implement sustainable interventions. Those who will provide follow-up information, will have a chance to get an accreditation to COP21 climate negotiations this December in Paris, where we hope a binding and ambitious agreement will be signed. Accommodation during COP and travel expenses to Paris will be provided by SCI.
