Volunteer Coordinator needed for Climate for Peace Campaign project in Ireland

VSI seeks a Volunteer Coordinator for a special project in July at the Eco Village in Cloughjordan which is part of the SCI Create a Climate for Peace Campaign. (more details of the campaign).

 The volunteer will organise the day-to-day programme of the project in July including:  Liaise with the local community and the Cloughjordan Community Farm; Support volunteers in their involvement in the programme; Ensure the “climate justice” theme is integrated throughout all elements of the project (food, travel, content, etc..);

 The volunteer should - have an interest and understanding of the theme of climate justice; have experience of working with diverse groups of people, including young people with fewer opportunities; have good problem-solving and communication skills; be available for and commit to the entire cycle of the project (preparation, implementation and evaluation).

 The volunteer should be available to attend an International Training Course in Rome, Italy from April 22nd- 29th. The training will give the volunteer the opportunity to meet other volunteer coordinators, to develop skills in group dynamics and conflict resolution, and to better understand the core theme of the CCP Campaign.
