Duration: 5 months
Programme: European Voluntary Service (EVS)/ European Solidarity Corps (ESC) (age group: 18-30)
Preschool and pre-primary education programs, carried out in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, offer a whole framework of well-thought-out methods, measures, approaches and specific practical tasks that help educators develop a child's personality foundation that is social and emotional skills.
We are looking for a young person from Ireland to join this project starting on the 1st of May 2019 for 5 months (until August 2019).
About the organization
Since 2001, the Kindergarten of Skuodas has been actively working in the field of preschool education focused on its target group 3 - 7 year old children and their parents. The priorities of our institution are to provide high-quality preschool and pre-primary education services, ensuring active child's self-expression in the educational process. We strive to create positive relationships between the child, the family and the teacher, based on partnership, communication, cooperation, and respect towards one another.
Our future volunteer's main task would be to help our educators prepare and carry out daily group classes, sport, art, and music lessons, through which they are getting used to the routine of school, the process of focusing and learning, and obtaining social skills needed in making new friends. The volunteer will also take part in organized events and projects created for the corresponding period, such as Summer camps for children and their families. Planning and implementing an English language class through the use of activities and games will be beneficial to the program as well.
We are seeking motivated, creative, and social volunteers that are able to work with children ages three to seven years old. Previous experience with volunteering or preschool children education can be very valuable, but is not required. Most important for participants would be the willingness to learn and invest their own time, energy and ideas into their work here at our institution. Volunteers should be prepared to work independently and accomplish given assignments as well as to engage in team work. The volunteer is required to have a clean criminal record, general health certificate, and TBC and HIV test results.
