European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering programme gives young people (18-30 years old) the opportunity to volunteer either in their own country or abroad. Volunteering projects can involve many different kinds of activities in areas such as youth work, cultural activities, social care or environmental protection. During their projects, ESC volunteers are provided with accommodation, food, a small personal allowance, language training and local transport.
What are the benefits of the ESC?
- Developing new skills
- Contributing to the local community
- Learning about other cultures
- Developing foreign language skills or learning a new language
- Gaining self-esteem and confidence
- Meeting new people
- Improving practical and social skills, etc.
An ESC project can last between 2 weeks and 12 months.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 to volunteer.
The funding covers accommodation, food, insurance and a small personal allowance. The only thing you might have to pay is a very small part of your travel costs. Support for language learning is also available.
