Making Peace Cranes
Volunteers needed for VSI stall at Knockanstockan Festival in Co. Wicklow Sat 24 July
VSI has the opportunity to set up a stall at the Knockanstockan Music festival this coming Saturday. We need 4 volunteers to help with the stall. There are 2 main tasks for the volunteers. 1 To give out VSI volunteering info to people attending the festival. 2. To get people to make Peace Cranes which are a symbol of peace used on Hiroshima Day, 6 August each year. VSI plan to create a group art installation over the course of the summer, by travelling to various festivals over the season. We plan to give participants at festivals the chance to create an origami peace bird using sustainable materials. Participants will be able to add a peace message to their bird. As the collection grows, the birds will form a mobile structure linked by a clear wire. Interested contact Tom at VSI ASAP.
